Q: When is the wedding?
A: It's been officially scheduled for 10:30 am of Saturday, June 13th, 2009. (Please note: previously there was a note here saying it would take place on June 27th 2009, but we were unable to book the venue we wanted for that day and changed to June 13th 2009, two weeks earlier, instead.) A celebratory brunch will follow in the same location.
A: The date we've chosen makes for an ~18 month engagement. According to Rebecca Mead, author of One Perfect Day: The Selling of the American Wedding (in an interview with IndieBride) the average length for an engagement is 16 or 17 months.
Q: Okay, but why wait so long?
A: This has to do with the boring details of Beth's projected academic schedule. June is also good because friends and family whose schedules are dictated by the academic year are more likely to be available then.
